Things I learned from my Bicol Ride

You are not always on the worst side of earth.

One of the greatest achievement that I achieved last 2020 is being a part of Motorcycle Riders Club of the Philippines. It is one of the best experience I ever had. MRC Ph is a group which builds, creates and promotes responsible riding around the nation. Founded by James Bon, MRC Ph started composed with different brand of motorcycle to enhance harmonious relationship with each other regardless of CC. MRC Ph has 2000+ official members nationwide.

Looking back from our ride it made me realize that things could go really really bad and you can’t do anything about it. We took off early as 4:00 in the morning at our starting place at McDo Dasmariñas Cavite. We headed to Batangas to meet other members of MRC from NCR.

As we all know, Bicolandia was greatly affected by typhoon Rolly. It was all over the news nationwide. Our team, – “Motorcycle Riders Club” decided to conduct relief operations to Guinobotan, Albay. Our travel was never easy, mostly the roads were cracked and trees were torn down ruining the houses nearby. It was definitely a saddening first hand experience.

We were able to cater and deliver relief goods to 200 families and had a short program to at least entertain the evacuees.

1. Tenacity will take you places.

It was never easy to start up again. One of the evacuees I talked to told me that everything they possessed was gone, the typhoon totally left them zero in their accounts. “Babangon nalang ulit,” she said. Simple words yet enough for her to start up the fire of a tenacious mother for her 3 kids.

2. Step up & make difference

Situation equates your needs. This is number 1 reason why donation program says “any amounts will do”. No matter how small or big the things you receive or give, still it will make a difference.

3. Your first step will determine your path.

I can’t any more words. But period.
